Origine Du Monde Maybe By Italo Rota

Origine Du Monde Maybe By Italo Rota

Let me tell you how much Memory Foam this particular chair (part of a chair and table set) employs. Three layers. You could sit on this chair so much that one layer was wrecked and you’d still have 2 left! And it’s super cute and comes in either pink or pink and green. It’s called the “Origine Du Monde, Maybe!” Which in English means “Origin of the World, Maybe!” A totally wild title for a totally wild set of furniture by designer Italo Rota.

I simply must share with you the description of these items as provided to us by Rota. It acts as sort of a manifesto for what would otherwise just be a vibrant seat and table set.

Rota writes:

A positive and/or negative seating, uterine and sensual, the last room before seeing the world in which well live in, first and only form which will accompany us in life.

Three layers of Memory Foam remind us the maternal projection, to rest, to remember, to imagine the future: at the end, imagining future is no more than think about the time thats left us to live.

A modest small table, masculine, more and more not necessary but for now indissociable, to let one of us sit on this chair.

A couple of objects for adults.

Stellar! It’s always refreshing to see someone put so much thought into the meaning behind or inside the objects they create. These objects are made up of the following things: Seat – holding base in thermoplastic rigid material in painted finishing, padded in flexible polyurethane, base made of polished aluminum. The table is glossy lacquered wood with the lamp rod made of polished stainless steel and LED lighting.

Logitech G50 Ergonomic Gaming Mouse By Damien Crossan

Logitech G50 Ergonomic Gaming Mouse By Damien Crossan

This mouse looks basically just like a hand. It is what’s called “ergonomic,” if you know what I mean. It’s the “G50 Vanguard”, a mouse made both to combat major causes of RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) and to be aesthetically pleasing to PC gamers. The hand goes on the mouse, the mouse works with the CPU. Months of solid foam model studies were done to find the best combo of fronts to fight RSI with this mouse, and a BUNCH of buttons were added to tend to the gamers.

But where’s the scroll wheel?! It’s sorta still there because it’s kinda needed in some way or another, but where it’s been up until now has been terrible for the finger due to the unnatural finger arc movement. Instead the thumb rest is the new location for the scroll track and bar. The track does the same thing as the wheel did, but works more like a treadmill track.

Like all the other controls, this track is full customizable as to the functions it activates.

And you know how it’s a hand? It raises the entirety of your hand off the table and reduces wrist anchoring and finger clamping, two big causes of RSI. The total amount of buttons on the mouse is 11, that’s ELEVEN clickable controls with the option of a mappable function button which then increases that number to 23. All buttons have been ergonomically designed and located to keep with the fabulous anti-RSI theme of the whole mouse.

Hand mouse! Activate!

Ten Creative Mouse Concepts

Our virtual hand has gotten pretty innovative in real life and the credit for this goes to all those concept ideas that seemed pretty outlandish at first. Im talking about the mighty mouse! From bare minimum functions to creatively complicated, the computer mouse has evolved in its stature. Here is a recap on the Ten Most Creative Mouse Concepts that have been showcased on Yanko Design.

10) OM Wireless Optical Mouse by Lukasz Natkaniec

OM is an optical mouse that is slim and wireless. It measures only 10mm at the highest point and sports an extra-wide body to cover up your palm.

9) Bendy M by Kim Hye-shin

Stripping the mouse of all is fuss, the Bendy M gives us the basic device thats actually a long strip fashioned to the infinite-sign-shape. It doesnt promise too much on grip tho and is merely a handy tool for the travelers who always complain about carrying bulky devices.

8 ) Toe Mouse by Liu Yi

No hands, no problems! The mouse improvises its form to fit the clutch of your toes! Especially been designed for folks with upper limb disabilities.

7) G-Spot Mouse by Andy Kurovets

Creatively naughty Andy Kurovets should have been a sex-toy designer, but the good lad thinks mouse and sex can lead to a heady cocktail! And he is right! The G-Spot mouse has a sweet spot that takes you directly to your favorite website.true to man-style no foreplay here as well!

6) eVouse by Marcial Ahsayane

I simply adore the eVouses form. Now I dont know how practical it will be while holding it as a pen to render works on the computer, but its glossy pictures suggest a refreshing new form for the drab black blob sitting on my desk currently!

5) Wooden Mouse by Alest Rukov

Exploring different materials to use to manufacture a mouse can be creative as well. The Wooden Mouse here is a perfect example.

4) Apple Slim Mouse by Tryi Yeh

Smooth and cutting edge as the original Apple form, this creative version looks awesome in the aluminum avatar. It switches between trackball (400dpi) and laser (1600dpi) with a micro adjustment and can be manufactured in a glossy plastic version as well.

3) Memory Mouse by Miji Rhoe

Apples hockey puck style mouse did not find favors with many, but designer Miji Rhoe still chose to explore this form. The result was a mouse which included built-in memory storage; the flip side was wires and portability. Nevertheless a creative idea!

2) Jelly Click Mouse by Bongkun Shin, Heungkyo Seo, Jiwoong Hwang & Wooteik Lim

The most unusual of the lot is this Jelly Click Mouse. With child-like excitement you inflate the mouse to use. Too bad its just a concept!

1) iContact by Eun-Gyeong Gwon & Eun-Jae Lee

Its not hard to fathom a time in the future where you insert a contact lens into your eye and this in fact is the mouse. The logistics to get the iContact working efficiently could be an engineers nightmare, but that shouldnt limit the creativity of a product designer!

IMousePad By DarkDesignGroup

IMousePad By DarkDesignGroup

Let me tell you a little bit about what I know of world commerce. There’s information, which travels at the speed of light, then there’s product, which travels at the speed of a van, then a boat, then a van, then a train, then a car. It’s slower than light. This causes a bit of annoyance in the world of electronics and multimedia. Why? Because Russia doesn’t have their iPads yet! So what did the folks at DarkDesignGroup (Russian design group) do?

They made the iMousePad.

Simple. Silly. Amazing.

And that’s all there really is to say about that. It’s a mouse pad. It’s clever. It’s excellent.

And I don’t think it’s licensed by Apple. Just a hunch.
