Laptops have become an integral part of our life; even a person like me who works from an iMac has to depend upon my trusty lappie as a backup. The thing about notebooks is if you treat them with care and pamper them with lush quarters, theyll serve you well and stay pristine. Crumpler, an Australian bag company, creates chic and smart urban bags, particularly their Heist Collection. The range is an ode to the working professional who doesnt believe in sacrificing style for functionality. Each of the four Heist bags are designed to carry your tech gear and accommodates a 15 or 17 inch Macbook. A common thread between all four bags is a padded laptop sleeve, two internal pockets and a zipped external pocket. All of them, except for the backpack, even come with a shoulder strap. The unique wing design provides support and strength to the bags where needed, allowing the main body to be soft and lightweight.

It’s quite often that we bear witness to transport systems being run into the ground, dust covered, dirt covered, rust and paint chips breaking away until dead. Not often do we see a system that flourishes in nature, it’s very environment becoming one with the natural world. That’s what’s going on here, in “People Mover,” a concept to reality in Bologna. This entire system is made up of 5084 meters of track, a monorail with two terminals. The entire route is laid next to a walkway both for easy access at every stop and as emergency exit space.

Photovoltaic panels and green areas are included, it’s design allowing both the panels and overgrowth for maximum allowance of nature to run its course despite the modern technology. At the entrance to Bologna is a bridge called “The Link,” a structure relying heavily on natural and simple forms for beauty and sustainability.

Perforated steel is used along the entire length of stations where the train might stop, this material letting in light and making the space more luminous as well as saving on lighting costs. Plants overgrowing the stops help with the process as well, keeping the entire system cool, with trees planted along the north facades to create a natural windbreak. And that’s just the half of it. Once this project moves closer to reality, the true depth of the nature of this elemental project will come to light and hopefully the whole modern world will take note and follow suit.

Not a cake! It might look like a cake a little bit when there’s plants growing out of this project, but it’s not a cake! This project, “Urban Seed,” comes from an overarching concept made by designer Ruedee Sarawutpaiboon. This overarching concept is futuristic public play. In the future, we’re gonna have some fun. This Urban Seed project is inspired by public secret storytelling and apology traditions. Urban Seed works with citizens, citizen to citizen, person to person, seed to blossom.

Now you can do this fabulous trade of ideas in two ways: analog or digital. The digital one works through some basically “traditional” means, odd as that sounds. It’s on telephones, smart phones if you call them that, and what it is is a system where you write your story, whatever you conceive that to be, and share that story anonymously.

Now the analog version is the real hot one. In this one, people are able to write their story on cards of bio-degradable cards filled with seeds. One person leaves a story, another person reads it, and like the seed that has been planted in their brain, another seed is planted via the card, which they can simply lie on the ground, allowing the rain to do its deed.
