From what Ive learnt, marketing is all about how make a product get noticed and grab media attention in the shortest possible span of time. An effective campaign can either be subtle, the get-under-your-skin kinds or be totally in-your-face. In the music industry its the latter route that finds much success, which is why flamboyance and distinctiveness is a part of the game. The O+ Promotional Media Package is just that!Ideal for single song releases and candid promos, the kit includes music access via a vinyl record, compact disc, USB flash drive and as an iTunes Download Code, bundled together. The only limitation is its memory size, not too big.

As designer David Riesenberg admits, it may not be commercially feasible to mass produce this concept, but for novelty special editions and buzz creation, this medium can be viable.

The way it works is this: the solid CD base accommodates a distortion proof vinyl layer, and the detachable USB flash drive accommodates the different spindle size.

The idea looks like it can create a major impact, any takers?

Walnut Player By YuKwang Kang

Walnut Player By YuKwang Kang

You learn something new every single day. Today I learned a term for an action for which, before today, I did not know the name of. It’s “walnut rolling” and it applies to the spinning of two spherical objects in your hand. You’ve done it before, I’m sure. Designer YuKwang Kang took this action and turned it into an MP3 player. It’s the aptly named “Walnut Player” to the rescue! Spin me some music!

This Walnut Player is made for your health and for having lots o’ fun. Made for the visually impaired AND for anyone else who enjoys awesome stuff, the Walnut Player works with braille writing along the sides of the nuts of which it is comprised along with a single button and finger-pressure movement applied through walnut-rolling.

And then while you’re at it, why not use that rolling to charge up some energy? The Walnut Player doesn’t need to be plugged into anything to be charged up, nay! The Walnut Player is charged up by the same Walnut Rolling that allows you to change tracks and better your health!

All of it by the power of rolling nuts!

Eames Inspired Wireless Speaker By Joel Pirela

Eames Inspired Wireless Speaker By Joel Pirela

This right here is a wireless speaker system inspired by the works of Charles and Ray Eames. Specifically, it uses the “Eames Quadraflex Speakers” system as a drawing board to create this DIY project. Designer Joel Pirela built a wooden box with an access door in the back, jammed (with care) a bunch of amazing speaker components in there, and created an opening for sound at the front, covered with a black aluminum grill. Painted all in an off-white shade for that “vintage look” and set it right up in Pirela’s house.

You may ask, “hey, what’s the deal? why would you make something bigger than it needs to be?” Well I’ll tell you. The cords go in the extra space when the speaker is not in use AND because it totally sounds amazing in there. That on top of, of course, the fact that those little speakers, while neat looking, have a totally different aesthetic than the Eames box. Both hot, now you’ve got it all, baby. Now I’ve got to make one too.
